About SFC
SFC (Sussex Flying Club), the longest established flying club at Shoreham Airport, is the preferred organisation for those who seek the highest standard in flying training. Offering a complete range of services, including ab-initio training for the Private Pilot's Licence, night flying and instrument instruction as well as self-fly-hire, SFC will help you achieve your aviation ambitions.
Our base at Shoreham Airport is fully equipped to meet the needs of anyone interested in flying. The club's facilities, on the upper floor of the main terminal building, include the latest in training equipment, classrooms and briefing facilities. Our fleet, consisting of reliable and safe Piper and Cessna aircraft, is maintained and equipped to the highest possible standards. Our rating and PPL instructors are all qualified commercial or airline pilots.
If you are considering learning to fly and train for your Private Pilot's Licence (PPL) we invite you to visit our premises, come and inspect our aircraft and, most importantly, speak to our students and instructors who will answer your questions in detail. We also provide Trial Flying Lessons and gift vouchers
Services for pilots
In addition to SFC's self-fly-hire services, qualified pilots can benefit from training with SFC to obtain additional ratings, improving skills and confidence. As a Civil Aviation Authority registered flying training organisation, SFC is authorised to carry out instrument (IMC) and night training and required examinations, as well as a safety pilot course and check rides. SFC provides the opportunity for hour-building in scenic surroundings, and offers refresher, cross-country and foreign training for qualified pilots whose licence privileges have lapsed or who wish to fly further afield.
